Akaroa Community Strengths and Needs. Steffi Brightwell (Community Development Advisor) is doing some research to gather a snapshot of the current strengths and needs according to those who live, work or spend time in Akaroa township. The intention is to hear from a wide range of people who have an interest in the community.
The overarching prompt is: “If you could keep one thing, get rid of one thing and improve one thing about Akaroa tomorrow, what would it be?” The community are encouraged to share their perspectives on Akaroa from social, economic, cultural, nature and built environment lenses.
The project is open to anyone who self identifies as having a current relationship with Akaroa. Anyone who wants to participate is able to. Interested individuals or groups can email Steffi on steffi.brightwell@ccc.govt.nz
Steffi is meeting with participants in small groups or 1:1 in a fairly informal conversational setting to ensure that the project is accessible and approachable for community members who may not be familiar with Council processes. You can also participate by comleting the survey online here.
This project is separate from but complimentary to the work that is currently happening to update Akaroa Places and Spaces. The Places and Spaces update focuses more on how land is used in Akaroa.
