Objective
The Master Plan will look ahead over a 30-year time frame and will cover the full port footprint and surrounding environment, freight networks, inland terminals, and all LPC services and interactions.
Stakeholder Engagement
As part of the study, LPC is undertaking an engagement exercise to help identify and prioritise the key issues. This exercise will include:
- An online survey open to the public, LPC staff, and industry stakeholders.
- Use of online platforms such as ‘Survey Monkey’, supported by Facebook and other social media channels to promote participation.
- A response period of three to four weeks, with the launch supported by a media release to encourage widespread involvement.
- Community drop-in sessions held in the Township, running in parallel with the online survey.
Within the survey, stakeholders will be asked to:
- Identify their stakeholder group, such as internal or external parties, port tenants, regulators, exporters/importers, transport operators, or members of the local community.
- Rank or score each themed ‘important issue’ on a scale from 1 (lowest priority) to 10 (highest priority).
- Provide comments and views on the identified important issues.
- Raise or comment on any additional important issues they believe are relevant to the study.
- Answer a question asking what one issue they would change at the Port of Lyttelton and its networks, if given the opportunity.
